Squash was a lively trifix one terrible day when hunting, they got caught in a horrible forest fire. The fire was a big disaster for the Forbidden Colony, and many trifix were hurt in the fire, one even killed. Squash managed to get out of the fire alive, but their timbermask caught fire, burning their face and leaving it exposed, skinless. The medics were afraid they wouldn't be able to save them, but the advanced trifix healing magic allowed them to somehow stabilize them - yet even the blowing of the wind would hurt them. Squash had barely any vision left, and they could not speak properly anymore. While they could, they hated the sound of their voce and refused to.
Squash could not continue being a hunter like this, so they became a Gardner. They started growing pumpkins and one day thought of putting one over their head - the carved pumpkin blocked out the wind and the darkness helped them see better, so Squash didn't take it off anymore.
Squash is the name the children gave to them. The children are scared yet mesmerized of Squash, they make up legends and stories about the lonesome pumpkin trifix that never speaks. Sometimes they come sneaking around their garden spying on Squash. Squash doesn't mind, they just wish the kids would stop being scarred of them.
