OUT-91: Grassy Meadows

She belonged to a sizable herd that would travel through Equestria and trade with other species. She was raised only by her mother and was very close to her, sometimes when she had nightmares her mother would hum a song to soothe her. One day her mother passed away and she was very distraught, but the herd was there for her and tried to comfort her but she became very quiet. Only sometimes she would hum her mother's song to herself at night so she could fall asleep. 

 

One night the herd travelled through the Everfree Forest, it was very dark and extremely difficult to see. The leader of the herd warned them to stay close together so no one would get lost, and that is what they did...until a timberwolf jumped out from the foliage and attacked them. The members of the herd panicked, a few tried defending against the beast but were slain while the rest scattered. Meadow panicked and didn't know what to do, she was the first one that ran away. She ran as fast and as far as she could until she collapsed from exhaustion, she then realised she was utterly lost. She called out to her herd, but got no reply. She called out for hours but ultimately realised, she was alone. She began to cry and then softly hummed her mother's song until she fell asleep. 

 

In her sleep a group of Umbra's warriors found her, coldly they killed her in her sleep with a spear to the head. They needed food for the camp, and she was the perfect prey.
